Guangzhou: Frankfurt's Chinese twin city
– the name of the Southern Chinese city of ten million inhabitants means "wide plain" and describes the location of the city at the entrance of the Pearl River delta, which with the triangle Guangzhou - Hong Kong - Macao is one of the most productive regions in the world. The geographical location results in a subtropical humid monsoon climate with an annual average temperature of 22 °C and a rainy season from April to August.
In China, Guangzhou is called the "City of the five goats", a name that comes from a legend about the founding of the over 2,200 year old trade center.
