In the year 2008 we are celebrating a special event: the 20 year anniversary of the town twinning between Guangzhou and Frankfurt on the Main.

Since many years, this connection has been characterized by an intensive friendly exchange and a great interest from both sides. It then suggests itself for both cities to celebrate the anniversary with a mutual exchange program.
Frankfurt on the Main will thus present itself with a series of events in April 2008 in Guangzhou and Guangzhou will do the same in September 2008 in Frankfurt on the Main. The return visit by the Chinese twin city Guangzhou to Frankfurt provides the inspiration for proclaiming the first China Festival in the Main metropolis.

In both cities, the program to celebrate the town twinning anniversary conveys the traditional values of cosmopolitanism and hospitality and underscores the international attractiveness of both twin cities.
