In spite of the distance of over 9000 km between them, the town twinning between Frankfurt am Main and Guangzhou is filled with lively activities. Regular cultural and commercial exchange programs as well as multifaceted personal encounters give rise to numerous contacts and friendships. The cooperative encounters between the citizens thereby provide a framework for the dialog between the cultures.

The twin city presents itself in Frankfurt with "Guangzhou am Main" from September to December, among other things with the following:

» A workshop and exhibition with mentally disabled artists from Guangzhou and Frankfurt
» The specialist conference "Critique – Theory – Critical Theory".  The reception of the Frankfurt School in China  
» The exhibition "The Role and the Scene" with works by Chen Tong /Guangzhou
» A multimedia documentation: film, photos and workshop
